YOREM appoints Chief Bambi Abiodun Abidemi to champion Yoruba self determination struggle in Oyo state

YOREM APPOINTED ABIODUN AS OYO STATE COORDINATOR, ADVISES GOVERNMENT TO ADOPT CONVENTIONAL AND UNCONVENTIONAL METHODS IN TACKLING INSECURITY The Yoruba Revolutionary Movement (YOREM) has chosen Chief Bambi Abiodun Abidemi as the Oyo State Coordinator of the group. He was unanimously appointed by the critical stakeholders of the movement across the 33 local government areas of the state. This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by Iseyin Local Government Coordinator of YOREM, Mr. Hammed Jagun, stating that the appointment takes immediate effect. “This is to inform the public that the State Executive Council had approved the selection of Chief Bambi Abiodun Abidemi as the new Coordinator of the Oyo State chapter of the Yoruba Revolutionary Movement (YOREM). The choice of Chief Abiodun came as a result of YOREM's leadership's desire to sustain the ideals of promoting the core values of the movement”. While he was also expected to be committed to the goals and objectives of the group for self determination and social emancipation, and the struggle for regional autonomy within a reconstituted genuine Federal structure or outside the pseudo federal union. In his acceptance speech to repositioned YOREM in Oyo State, Bambi Abidemi thanked the leadership of the Movement, he pledged to protect the interest of the movement making it more vibrant than the way it was He seized the opportunity to advise the Nigerian government at all levels to explore conventional and unconentional approach to address rising cases of insecurity across the country. "The Yoruba people have their unconventional ways of tackling insecurity which worked for them and can still work if properly annexed. Within the notion of punishment in the Yoruba culture, the physical and non-physical aspects of human existence are reconciled to arrive at a justifiable punitive action". He stressed.
