Delta Court Halts Development in ₦500 Million Land Dispute

Court Orders Parties to Maintain Status Quo in ₦500 Million Land Case The Delta State High Court sitting in Asaba and presided over by Hon. Justice C. D. Diai has issued an order restraining Mrs. Calista Ogechukwu Eziokwu, Patrick Eziokwu, Charles Ofoezie, Austine Ekeh, and Onyebuchi Nwagwu from carrying out any further development on a disputed property at the center of a ₦500 million land suit. The suit was filed by Solomon Atube, a Delta State based legal practitioner, through his counsel, Dr. A. A. Orunkoya. Dr. Orunkoya, representing the claimant, urged the court to restrain the defendants from continuing development on the land identified as Plot 71, Block VIII, Phase V, Core Area, Asaba, and registered as DTSR/18388 at the Asaba Land Registry. He argued that any further activity on the property could destroy the res (subject matter) of the ongoing litigation. After hearing the application, Justice Diai granted the order, directing all parties to maintain the status quo and refrain from any action concerning the disputed property pending the determination of the substantive suit. Delta State has, in recent times, witnessed a surge in land-related disputes, with allegations of land grabbing and the forgery of Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-Os) involving some officials in the Ministry of Lands and Survey. Critics have accused the state government of failing to implement a reliable digital verification system to curb the issuance of fake land documents. In the present case, it was alleged that the defendants attempted to register a mortgage over the land using particulars of a deceased person in an effort to fraudulently claim ownership. Officials of the Delta State Ministry of Lands reportedly uncovered the irregularity and raised an alarm, prompting the claimant to take legal action.

NIGERIA RISKS DISINTEGRATION IF INJUSTICE PERSISTS, it will survive on the basis of justice, fairness, and democratic integrity.– Wale Balogun

NIGERIA RISKS DISINTEGRATION IF INJUSTICE PERSISTS,it will survive on the basis of justice, fairness, and democratic integrity.– Wale Balogun Human rights advocate and political activist, Comrade Wale Balogun, has raised alarm over what he describes as Nigeria’s steady descent into authoritarianism and ethnic exclusion under the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a strongly worded statement made available to the press, Balogun warned that the continued marginalisation of the Igbo ethnic group — particularly the coordinated denial of an Igbo presidency — may legitimize rising calls for Biafran self-determination. “You cannot continue to treat a people as second-class citizens and expect them to remain in a union based on oppression. If Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani political elites continue to gang up against Ndigbo, then the right to self-determination becomes not only justified but necessary,” Balogun said. He decried the ethnic profiling and voter suppression of Igbos during the 2023 elections in Lagos, calling it electoral apartheid designed to intimidate non-indigenous voters and rig outcomes in favour of the ruling APC. Balogun expressed concern over the Tinubu administration’s alleged efforts to turn Nigeria into a one-party state, citing the co-optation of the judiciary, the silencing of opposition voices, and increasing clampdowns on dissent. He pointed to the harassment of former interior minister Rauf Aregbesola, whom he described as a target for daring to speak out against Tinubu’s “cult-like political structure.” He further declared that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), under Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has lost credibility and must not be allowed to conduct the 2027 elections without comprehensive, citizen-led electoral reforms. “The rigging of 2027 has already begun , starting with flawed voter registration and an impending falsified census. Nigerians must act now to resist manipulation at every stage of the democratic process.” Balogun called on civil society organisations, youth movements, opposition parties, and community leaders to mobilise for genuine reform, and warned against allowing the current National Assembly, which he described as a “Yes-man institution”, to impose self-serving reforms. In his final appeal, Comrade Balogun urged Nigerians to rise in peaceful but determined resistance to dictatorship and injustice. “No one has a monopoly of violence. While we do not call for war, we will defend our rights with our voices, our votes, and our collective power. Let the ruling class know that power belongs to the people, not a cabal.” “Let it also be known: if equity fails, unity cannot stand. Ndigbo, and any other marginalised group, cannot be expected to pledge loyalty to a country that constantly excludes them.” Balogun reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s survival, but only on the basis of justice, fairness, and democratic integrity.

corrupt political elite — Yoruba by name but anti-Yoruba by action — who have held this state by the jugular not Ndigbo - Wale Balogun

*STATE OF THE NIGERIAN NATION* Comrades, I stand before you today not only as Comrade Wale Balogun, a proud member of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, but also as a Nigerian — one who bears the daily burden of failed leadership, unfulfilled promises, and the persistent erosion of our dignity as a people. It is 2025, and yet, Nigeria continues to limp on the broken crutches of corruption, insecurity, economic hardship, and social injustice. The state of the Nigeria state today is a mirror of our failures, but also a call to action for every one of us committed to the ideals of freedom, equity, and accountability. Our democracy, 26 years into the Fourth Republic, remains a democracy only in name. Elections have become rituals of imposition and manipulation. The will of the people is constantly subverted by the machinery of the powerful. We see a government that claims legitimacy but governs with impunity — a ruling elite more interested in consolidating wealth than in serving the people. The recent spate of unconstitutional actions, the suppression of dissent, and the targeting of activists should alarm us all. The harassment of journalists, the freezing of civil society accounts, and the deployment of security forces against peaceful protesters — these are signs not of strength, but of fear. Fear of an awakened citizenry. The average Nigerian is suffering. The cost of living has skyrocketed beyond comprehension. Inflation is eating deep into the pockets of even the working class, while millions remain unemployed or underemployed. Our youth — full of energy, talent, and dreams — are either fleeing the country - the Jappa syndrome or languishing in hopelessness. The removal of fuel subsidies, though theoretically sound, was implemented without a social cushion for the poor. The naira continues to plummet, and public infrastructure is deteriorating. Where is the accountability for the billions claimed to be invested in development? We cannot continue like this. Poverty is not a natural condition — it is the result of bad policies and worse politics. Whether in Lokoja, Asaba, Plateau, or even the streets of Lagos, insecurity has become our daily reality. Kidnappings, banditry, terrorism, and communal violence persist with alarming regularity. Our security architecture is overstretched, underfunded, and in many cases, compromised. The Nigerian state is gradually losing its monopoly on violence — a dangerous sign for any country. When citizens lose faith in the state’s ability to protect them, they begin to look elsewhere, often to dangerous alternative. As members of the CDHR, we must speak without fear: human rights are under siege in Nigeria. The freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and freedom of the press are constantly being curtailed. Court orders are ignored with impunity. Citizens are detained without trial. Whistleblowers are hunted, not protected. This is not the democracy we fought for alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is not the Nigeria the APC presidency promised Nigerians. History has never been kind to those who stood on the sidelines of injustice. It has always favoured the bold, the persistent, and the principled. The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights must rise again — louder, stronger, and more united than ever. We must continue to: * Speak truth to power, even when it is dangerous. * Defend the rights of the oppressed, even when it is unpopular. * Mobilize the people, educate the masses, and build coalitions that will challenge the status quo. The struggle is not just against bad leaders — it is against a system that enables impunity, marginalisation, and injustice. *A United Front of the Oppressed: The Path to Liberation* Fellow comrades, if there is one truth that history has taught us, it is that the oppressed must unite — or remain divided and defeated. Across Nigeria’s — North, South, East, and West — the suffering is the same. The poor farmer in Benue, the unemployed graduate in Bayelsa, the overtaxed trader in Kano, and the displaced villager in Southern Kaduna all cry the same tears. This pseudo-federal structure has pitted communities against one another, not in service of justice, but in service of elite domination. They divide us along ethnic and religious lines while they dine together in Abuja and Lagos, united in exploitation. We must reject this false dichotomy. The oppressed in Nigeria must come together across ethnic, regional, and class lines to build a united front against the oppressors. Our power lies in our numbers, in our shared struggle, and in our collective refusal to be used as pawns. Let the fisherman, the students, the artisans, the women, the peasants, the workers, and all marginalised peoples come together under one banner: the banner of justice, dignity, and democratic emancipation. It is only through a broad-based, grassroots, pan-Nigerian alliance of the oppressed that we can dismantle the chains of this unjust order and forge a truly people-oriented Federal Union. Nigeria is bleeding, but it is not dead. We are battered, but we are not broken. The soul of our nation cries out for justice, and it is our duty to answer that call — not tomorrow, not next year, but now. Let this meeting today be more than a talk shop. Let it be a recommitment to our cause. Let us leave here ready to organize, ready to resist, and ready to build a genuinely restructured Federal Union that truly belongs to all. *REJECT ETHNIC DIVISION : YORUBA-IGBO UNITY IS ESSENTIAL* Comrades, we must now speak on a dangerous poison that is being deliberately fed to our people — the ethnic profiling and scapegoating of Ndigbo in Lagos. This is not just an issue of morality; it is a strategic political deception that must be exposed and destroyed. Let it be said clearly and without apology: the Igbo are not the enemies of the Yoruba in Lagos. The narrative that pits us against each other is not from the grassroots — it is manufactured from the top, from those who benefit from our disunity. It is no coincidence that each time elections approach, there is a sudden surge in anti-Igbo rhetoric. This is not grassroots anger; this is elite manipulation. And we must call it by its name. The failed and still failing political dynasty of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is playing the ethnic card — not for the progress of the Yoruba nation, not for the good of Lagos, but simply to score cheap, undeserved electoral victories. Since 1999, Yoruba have ruled Lagos under this so-called dynasty. For 26 years, they have controlled the treasury. If Lagos is broken today, it is not the fault of Ndigbo — it is the fault of those who have looted Lagos dry. Ask yourselves: * Who has held the keys to the Lagos State treasury for a quarter of a century? * Who awards inflated contracts without completion? * Who enriches cronies while public schools rot and hospitals decay? * Who turned Lagos into a political empire while the masses suffer in traffic, slums, and insecurity? * It is not the Igbo trader at Alaba or the mechanic in Ojo. It is the so-called custodians of Yoruba interest who only remember they are Yoruba when it is time to divide the poor. Let it be known: the real enemy of Lagosians is not any ethnic group. It is the corrupt political elite — Yoruba by name but anti-Yoruba by action — who have held this state by the jugular. Lagos has been run like a private estate — with no transparency, no accountability, and no shame. We must reject this divide-and-rule tactic. Yoruba and Igbo, Hausa and Ijaw, must unite in Lagos and across Nigeria — not as ethnic blocs but as oppressed peoples facing the same hardship, ruled by the same class of exploiters. * We must say NO to ethnic profiling. * We must say NO to election-time hate campaigns. * We must say NO to being used and dumped. Our unity is our weapon, and our solidarity is our strength. CDHR ! My Right is my right, is my right!!! Comrade Wale Balogun August 10, 2025 Lagos, Nigeria

Tinubu cannot silence dissent as Democracy thrives on dialogue, not detention- FEDERAL WORKERS FORUM

Federal Workers Forum Calls for the Unconditional Release of Omoyele Sowore The Federal Workers Forum (FWF) strongly condemns the continued detention of Comrade Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), and demands his immediate and unconditional release. Comrade Sowore is currently held on charges instituted and investigated by the Office of the Inspector General of Police, which, upon critical examination, remain untenable and politically motivated. The fact that the same office serving as accuser also assumes the role of investigator raises serious questions about fairness, impartiality, and due process. It is ironic and unacceptable that Sowore—a citizen who has boldly advocated for better welfare, improved working conditions, and retirement benefits for serving and retired police officers—is now being punished by the same system he sought to improve. His calls were never criminal; they were a patriotic push for reform in the Nigeria Police Force Rather than clamp down on constructive criticism and advocacy, the Inspector General of Police and other relevant stakeholders in the security sector should have welcomed Sowore’s proposals and engaged in meaningful dialogue to implement needed reforms. The Federal Workers Forum stands in unwavering solidarity with Comrade Sowore and views his detention as part of a disturbing trend of repression against voices of justice, equity, and progress. We therefore demand: The unconditional release of Omoyele Sowore A public explanation from the Office of the IGP regarding the legal basis for his detention and others An immediate halt to the use of state institutions to stifle advocacy and reform Urgent attention to the demands for better welfare and retirement packages for officers of the Nigeria Police Force Democracy thrives on dialogue, not detention. Nigeria cannot afford to continue silencing those who speak for justice and institutional reform. Signed: Comrade Itoro Obong (National sec.) Comrade Razak Oseni (National P. R. O) Comrade Ogundele John (National Ass P. R.O) Comrade Lazarus Bur (Head of protest coordinarion)

Ebun Adebusoye exposed her ignorance and hatred because Sowore always speaks his mind loudly and clearly...when issue of humanity and principled activism is involved. - Adeola Soetan

TEACHER , DON'T TEACH US NONSENSE. By : Adeola Soetan "Madam Tribal Bigot, I'm surprised you didn't express this your fake Yoruba nationalism love when some terrorist Fulani herdsmen were sacking your ancestors, taking grazing land forcefully without payment, killing and maiming your Yoruba kings, fathers, mothers youths and farmers. You kept quiet like your rogue leaders because of politics of appeasement and indulgence for power transfer from Seriki Integrity Buhari at the risk of the lives of your people you now claimed to love. Laughable! Duplicitous moralists. Selective Yoruba nationalism". I'M A Quick Response to a dangerous prowling ethnic bigot, Mrs. Ebunola Adebusoye. Deputy Women's Leader, Indigenous Lagos Teachers Association. Mrs Ebunola Adebusoye has just written as an uncultured, uncivilized, intolerant Yoruba person lacking sound Yoruba wisdom and intellect. Yoruba accommodate divergent opinions on issues and respect views because they don't subscribe to enslavement by anyone. She's really not a democrat, an illiterate to civilization and democratic rights of expression she wrongly called Sowore. Well, may be Sowore didn't win and can't win election according to her, because he's not a drug baron, a certificate forger, an identity thief with no identifiable root. May be Sowore is not a grand looter of a state and offered himself post - office looting for life pensions running into billions of naira to buy voters and their conscience, rig elections and unleash thugs on the people. May be that's why Sowore can't win and unconscientious people like Ebun can't and won't vote for Sowore but would prefer to vote, serve and be enslaved by desperate moral wrecks. Madam & her supporters should know that democracy allows freedoms of choice, opinions on all issues including naming and renaming streets and bus stops done with sincerity or with vendetta. Oh ye pretenders to "One Nigeria" the "Unity of Nigeria is not negotiable" at daytime but senseless ethnic bigots with violent mind at night and by actions should come out plain that you are spreading ethnic hatred that may lead to terrible ethnic war just because Igbo are exercising their independent right of choice on who to vote for. That's a universal right and no one should be punished for that. Perhaps if they had voted for your morally bankrupt leader (s) as they did in 1999, this renewed ethnic hostility won't occur. It's when totalitarian unprincipled leaders failed to perform that they cling to ethnic, religious straw & gangsterism to divert attention from concrete socio-economic problems to pedestrian sentiments. Ask yourselves, why is it that it's only when Janduku, unprincipled moral scoundrels without character & integrity are in power in Lagos and in Nigeria that they always resort to dangerous ethnic & religious hatred to divert attention. I have been in Lagos since 1976 - 1978, ethnic hostility was not noticeable during Jakande who popularly declared on his swearing in day that "Lagos is no man's land". Not because Jakande was saying Lagos has no root, no indigenous people, Awori & Benin early settlers. But because as a scrupulous man of high ideals like many other members of his political group led by Chief Obafemi Awowolo, with focus on collective development among tribes and foreigners, he understood that development knows no tribe or religious bias. Also because Jakande appreciated the traditional and historical status of Lagos as a colony, federal capital territory that has enjoyed full support of the indigenous people, all Nigerians across tribes & ethnic regions and by foreign nationals and multinational companies. That's what Abuja as a federal capital is enjoying now with contributions to its development by the federal government, by all citizens across ethnic nationalities of Nigeria and foreigners. Will Gbari indigenous people of Abuja now claim tomorrow that Abuja exclusively belongs to them? That will be very insincere of them because "Abuja is now a no man's land" literally speaking. When Jakande declared Lagos as a "no man's land" now being wrongly attributed to Igbo people, the best governor of Lagos only wanted a Lagos for all and he started building Lagos into a state of pride for all. It may interest you that despite these remarkable achievements in many legacy projects yet to be surpassed, Baba Jakande never engaged in primitive accumulation of Lagos wealth and property like your morally and character deficient corrupt leaders. Nothing like ethnic blackmail during Governor Otedola, or during any military administrator of Lagos. . It's only when janduku politicians many of whom are not even original Omo Eko (Lagosians) come to power that a resort to ethnic war comes to play. I'm a proud Egbaman and a Yoruba man to the core. I don't have any problem with Igbo, Hausa-Fulani, Ijaw etc. I don't nurse any inferiority or superiority complex. I have done biz and have romantic affairs with ladies from different tribes and I don't see any hatred in them to me and vice varsa. So, if you have wahala with Igbo, that's your personal headache. Don't drag Yoruba who are also suffering same economic hardship if not more than Igbo, Fulani and other tribes because a harsher and more roguish heartless member of a rogue anti-people capitalist class is unleashing IMF - World Bank neo-liberal economic policies of subsidy removal, devaluation, deregulation, commercialisation of all social infrastructure and privatization of our commonwealth into private hands and fronts. I'm educated and civilized not to be deceived by any member of the corrupt ruling capitalist class across ethnic regions using ethnic or religious bait for me to consolidate their totalitarian power. Only fools and crazy automated Abobakus will fall for that because the criminal ruling class is one when looting and patronage is the subject. Whatever good or bad Charly Boy did at Gbagada he did it as a gifted canterkerous man not on behalf of Igbo or because he's Igbo. Just like the good, the bad and the ugly things Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Abami Eda, Onile Orisa of Afrika did in Ikeja including battle with his landlord and owing the Benite family for years because of major disagreement till Fela died. He did all as Fela a weird philosopher king, great artiste, he didn't do those things because of Yoruba or because he was Yoruba. So why hanging all Igbo with your expressed hatred for Igbo because of Charly boy and few others? Madam Tribal Bigot, I'm surprised you didn't express this your fake Yoruba nationalism love when some terrorist Fulani herdsmen were sacking your ancestors, taking grazing land forcefully without payment, killing and maiming your Yoruba kings, fathers, mothers youths and farmers. You kept quiet like your rogue leaders because of politics of appeasement and indulgence for power transfer from Seriki Integrity Buhari at the risk of the lives of your people you now claimed to love. Laughable! Duplicitous moralists. Selective Yoruba nationalism. No street or bus stop was named after Fela but when going to his house, just tell any Olokada and n Ikeja that you are going to "Ile Fela" or Kalakuta Republic, you are there immediately. Why are you exposing your ignorance and hatred for Sowore and how Sahara Reporters is being funded because he always speaks his mind loudly and clearly because he has no friend, no foe when issue of humanity and principled activism is involved. He just led the protest by frustrated retired policemen & women. Where were you then? Where were you when Sowore led democratic struggles including June 12 and where were you when Sowore led campaign against killings and police /military brutality? Ask DSS who investigated Sowore and his Sahara Reporters, at least he was arrested, tortured, thoroughly investigated, illegally detained and persecuted for 3 years under Seriki Integrity Buhari regime and NOTHING implicating was found on him. If you are not satisfied, please commence your own investigation. Or goggle it to know how SH is funded. It's an open secret Sowore has revealed many times to the press. Madam Ebun, you claimed to be a Teacher with this your embarrassing "Alatika - Serekode Bolekaja" undignified mentality and spurious claims? That's interesting. Ebun means Gift in English language. Definitely, you must be a bad gift to the noble teaching profession. Madam Teacher, Don't Teach Us Nonsense. Adeola Soetan 08037207856

Police hunt for Comrade Wale Balogun for supporting opposition candidates in Lagos LG elections

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS : COMRADE WALE UNDER THREAT OF POLICE ARREST.* - Daisi Ogunniyi The July 12th Local Government elections in Lagos state is becoming worrisome with the threat to arrest a community leader in Yaba LCDA, Comrade Wale Balogun, leader of Mekunnu Koya. Comrade Balogun crime is said to be his support for the candidates of opposition political parties in Lagos state particularly, Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency. He had warned political thugs of the ruling party not to repeat the anti democratic practice in which a well known political thug Murtala Rahman aka Muri Cooordinator and his gang snatched ballot boxes at Saint Dominic, Sabo, during the 2023 general elections. Evidence of this was on tape He was also said to have appeal for a Non-violence process of One Man, One Vote. In spite of this, eligible voters in Adekunle - WARD A, Abule Ọja - WARD D, Abule Ijesha - WARD i, Iwaya - WARD - F and G, and Makoko - B, all in Yaba LCDA are being threatened not vote for opposition parties or dare the consequences. Security reports shows that a tactical team directly from the Lagos State Commissioner of Police office have linked up with the SCID Panti Yaba, to effect Comrade Wale Balogun's arrest. However, the fearless pro-democracy activist is in the neighborhood and remains undaunted. In a related development, the Councillorship candidate of PDP, Babatunde Dosunmu is said to be under threat of attack by APC thugs or being arrested on trumphed up charges.

The "rat race” for political power in Nigeria is borne out of selfishness, greed for power, opportunism, sycophancy, kleptocracy, corruption and despotism

2027 Election: A Rat Race, Chess Game In Nigeria’s Distraught Polity Opinion & Interviews By David ADENEKAN On Jul 9, 2025 The two phrases; ‘a rat race’ and ‘a chess game’ are intertwined and entangled in the same end game, the prowess to capture political power or position. In a very simple narrative; “a rat race” is a way of life in which people are caught up in a fiercely competitive struggle for wealth or power. Similarly, the goal of a chess game is to capture the opponent’s King by placing it in “checkmate.” When one player’s King is in check (under attack) and there is no legal way for it to escape on the next move, that’s checkmate. Emphatically, it is called checkmate and signifies the end of the game; a new power bloc has emerged. Prejudice apart and without mincing words, the phenomenon of politics of “a rat race” in the Nigeria polity, is borne out of selfishness, greed for power, opportunism, sycophancy, kleptocracy, corruption and despotism (naked power). Truth be told, this is a compendium of what we are witnessing in today’s Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general election. Historically, our experience of a politics of “a rat race” since our independence on October 1, 1960 is limitless in deadlocks that have forestalled a trajectory for a true nation building. The military incursion into our democracy led by General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) in 1983 to almost the end of twentieth century in 1999 continues to plunge the country into a myriad of socio-political economic problems of “a rat race politics” that seems not to have a dead-end. The reality of this rat race’s anomaly is that, a country whose foundation is not built on fairness, equity and justice, cannot stand the test of time. The issue of north/south dichotomy, vis-a-vis; the northern hegemony will continue to underscore the bane of our so-called unity in diversity. Understandably, today in Nigeria, power has changed hands and to the political elites in the north. It is no longer Northern hegemony. To them, it is unsavory southern hegemony and the new political slogan of some elites in the north may be that, power must change hands by fire by force, back to the north. It is noteworthy to say that, it is only two years of the miserable economic policies of a southern President; Bola Ahmed Tinubu and some elites in the north seem ready to burn down the roof of the house to return a northerner back to the centre of power in Aso Rock Villa.

In his acceptance speech to repositioned YOREM in Oyo State, Bambi Abidemi thanked the leadership of the Movement, he pledged to protect the interest of the movement making it more vibrant than the way it was He seized the opportunity to advise the Nigerian government at all levels to explore conventional and unconentional approach to address rising cases of insecurity across the country. "The Yoruba people have their unconventional ways of tackling insecurity which worked for them and can still work if properly annexed. Within the notion of punishment in the Yoruba culture, the physical and non-physical aspects of human existence are reconciled to arrive at a justifiable punitive action". He stressed.

APC naive attacks and verbal potshots against Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola failed to erase his towering legacy - Adio Abiodun

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; A Political Titan Whose Relevance Transcends Party Lines ..... by Adio Abiodun In the ever-evolving theatre of Nigerian politics, it is rare to find a figure whose presence, long after leaving office, continues to shape discourse, influence outcomes, and unsettle opponents. Such is the story of Engr. Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, popularly called Ogbeni, whose recent appointment as the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nigeria’s newly rising opposition platform, has again jolted political structures, particularly within his former party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). For many, Aregbesola’s reemergence in a new partisan home should have been a moment for sober reflection on his enduring relevance, capacity, and value. Instead, what we have witnessed is an uncoordinated, if not laughable, barrage of attacks and verbal potshots from a few politically naive individuals, most of whom are long-standing rivals within the Osun APC, individuals who, despite their years of scheming, have failed to erase Ogbeni’s towering legacy in the state and beyond. To understand the roots of this resentment, one must journey back to the formative years of Aregbesola’s political life. From his youthful days as an activist and organiser during the pro-democracy struggles of the 1990s, Ogbeni has always been driven by ideological clarity and revolutionary commitment to the people. He was never the kind of politician who sought office for its trappings; rather, he wielded power as a tool for societal transformation. His association with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos became the defining point of his emergence as a political strategist of immense depth. As Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, Aregbesola helped entrench a new governance model that many states later tried to emulate. His strategic input was critical to the survival of opposition politics in Lagos and other parts of the Southwest, especially during the years when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) threatened to overrun the region. But it was his electoral triumph in Osun State in 2010, following a titanic legal battle, that cemented his status as a political lion. For eight years, Aregbesola redefined governance in Osun, focusing on infrastructure, education, social protection, and youth development. His policies were bold, at times controversial, but undeniably impactful. Even after he left office in 2018, his presence has continued to loom large, which understandably unsettles some within the Osun APC establishment, who have since struggled to fill the vacuum he left behind. Their discomfort with Aregbesola’s sustained popularity is the real reason for the recent attacks on his person. They fear what his mobilization strength could mean in the lead-up to 2027, particularly now that he is realigning through the ADC, a platform increasingly being seen as the nucleus of a credible third force in Nigerian politics. His critics, mostly lacking in historical perspective and real grassroots engagement, have failed to acknowledge the fact that Aregbesola’s contributions to the APC’s evolution were not just significant, they were foundational. In Lagos, he helped build the structures that won elections even in the face of federal hostility. In Osun, he delivered two electoral cycles and helped mobilize the Southwest for the APC in the 2015 and 2019 general elections. Across Nigeria, his role as a political tactician was always in demand. That the APC has now become a party in desperate need of ideological reawakening, internal cohesion, and mass trust, is in part due to the marginalization of men like Aregbesola, men who built, bled, and sacrificed for the party when it was unpopular to do so. His new role in the ADC, far from being an act of political betrayal, is a reflection of the maturity of Nigeria’s democracy. It signals the possibility of alternative platforms gaining traction, especially when steered by individuals with credibility and experience. If anything, Aregbesola’s involvement in the ADC is bound to reshape alignments, particularly among disenchanted progressives within the APC who now seek a home more reflective of their ideals. As Nigeria inches towards another defining electoral cycle in 2027, it is clear that Ogbeni remains a central factor in any serious political calculation. His reach, particularly among the youth and the working class, remains formidable. His political structure, developed over decades of activism, governance, and strategic engagement, is not one to be dismissed by opportunistic upstarts. To dismiss Aregbesola is to misunderstand Nigerian politics. To try and undermine his legacy is to deny reality. For now, and for the foreseeable future, Ogbeni remains not just a man of history, but a man of destiny. And that, perhaps, is what threatens his rivals the most. Comrade Adio Abiodun sent in this piece from Abule Egba in Lagos State.

DSS: Free Andrew Emelieze the champion of Federal Workers struggle welfare now. Femi Aborisade

*Femi Aborisade Demands Release of Comrade Andrew Emelieze, Co-ordinator of Federal Workers Forum* My client, Comrade Andrew Emelieze who has been championing the struggle for the welfare of workers employed by the Federal Government has been detained again today 3/7/25 by the State Security Service (SSS) in Ibadan. It should be recalled that the Comrade was detained on 30/6/25 and released the following day on 1/7/25. Today, he was invited by the same DSS and detained for no stated reason. According to the report of Mr. Yusuff Akinola, the lawyer from Abope Chambers who went to secure his bail on 1/7/25 and who also accompanied him today to the SSS office, no specific allegation of any offence was made against Comrade Andrew Emelieze. Indeed, according to Andrew Emelieze, his interrogation on 30/6/25 through 1/7/25 revolved round only facts relating to the formation of the Federal Workers Forum. Today, 3/7/25, after he honoured the invitation of the SSS, he was asked to wait for a Senior Officer who never showed up to interrogate him. I call on the SSS to release my client, Comrade Andrew Emelieze. If he has committed any offence known to law, he should be charged to court. Below are the verbatim reports of Yusuff Akinola Esq on 1/7/25 and 3/7/25, which show nothing but sheer harassment of a law-abiding citizen in person of Comrade Andrew Emelieze. *REPORT OF VISIT TO THE OFFICE OF THE STATE SECURITY SERVICE (SSS)OYO STATE COMMAND,ON THE ARREST, DETENTION AND RELEASE ON BAIL OF COMRADE ANDREW EMELIEZE FROM 30TH June through 1ST JULY 2025*. Around 11 a.m of 1/7/2021, I got to the premises of the Oyo State Command of the SSS located at Aleshinloye, Ibadan, Oyo State. I was initially prevented from entering the premises by the officers at the entrance gate on the ground that no lawyer can see anyone in their custody until the Investigation Officer has directly and formally invited the counsel. Later, when I stated we might make a public statement that our client had been denied access to a lawyer of his choice, I was eventually allowed to enter their main building at about 11:15 a.m. The officers at the counter directed me to wait at the visitors' room on the ground floor, that the Investigation Officer would come out to invite me to the Interrogation Room. After 40 minutes, the same officer informed me that they were attending to Comrade Andrew Emelieze and that I would be allowed to see him at a later time. Around 2 p.m, an officer who they all addressed as 'DLS' invited me to his OFFICE where I identified him to be their lawyer. The SSS lawyer ordered the Investigation Officer to bring Comrade Andrew to his office. Upon the production of Comrade Andrew in their lawyer's office, I asked for the reason for his arrest and detention. Neither the lawyer nor the Investigation Officer could state the particular reason for the arrest and detention. Rather, the lawyer showed me the statement written by Comrade Andrew and he asked Comrade Andrew if he was tortured and whether the statement was made voluntarily. Comrade Andrew responded that he was never tortured and his statement was made voluntarily. Comrade Andrew Emelieze's statement was his responses to the questions put to him about the historical facts on the formation of the Federal Workers Forum led by the Comrade which had planned a protest in Abuja for 1/7/25. Thereafter, we were led to the 'ADS' office where I orally applied for Comrade Andrew's bail. I was informed that it was not their practice to take oral application for bail. They requested that the bail should be applied with our office letterhead within 1 hour because their officers were preparing to head out of their premises. By 2:56 pm, I submitted, at the counter, the handwritten application for bail with Abope Chambers' letterhead. We were given a bail bond to fill around 3 pm but we had to wait till 6pm before Comrade Andrew could be released, because none of the officers present could tell us the offence Comrade Andrew had allegedly committed. Meanwhile, we needed to state the alleged offence on the bail bond. Around 6 p.m., the Investigation Officer came back and informed us that the alleged offences were *'Incitement and Public Disturbance'* . Comrade Andrew was finally released around 6 p. m. and we left their premises by 6:15 p.m. Yusuff Akinola, Esq. *REPORT OF VISIT TO THE SSS OFFICE TODAY 3/7/25 AND DETENTION OF COMRADE ANDREW EMELIEZE* Sequel to the invitation of Comrade Andrew Emelieze by the SSS, on the ground that there was a document we were yet to sign to perfect his earlier bail granted on 1/7/2025, Comrade Andrew and I went to the SSS Command this evening and entered their premises around 5:17 p.m. Upon entering their main building, we were informed by one of the officers that an unidentified senior officer wanted to ask him a few questions. Hence, Comrade Andrew was directed to wait at the Waiting Room. The officer then advised that I could leave so that they wouldn't waste my time. I informed him that we were invited only to come and "perfect the bail" earlier granted and I informed him that I wouldn't leave my client behind . He therefore stated that I could stay with Comrade Andrew at the Waiting Room till the time the said senior officer would return back to office. After 40 minutes, I informed the officer at the counter that we would like to leave as it and come back tomorrow since Comrade Andrew was already on bail and he needed to take his medication. The officer said I might leave but Comrade Andrew had to wait for the senior officer who was not available. I reminded the officer again that Comrade Andrew was on bail and there was no reason to detain him again since he had not jumped bail and I further asked if he had been detained again. The officer didn't respond to my question. After 2 hours of waiting, around the 7:18 p.m., I had to leave the SSS Command when it became obvious that their intention was to keep Comrade Andrew in their custody. Upon reaching home around 9 p.m. because of the heavy rain fall and traffic , I saw two missed calls on my phone from the officer that invited us. I called him back and he informed me that the senior officer had returned but they found out I had left. I asked if they had released Comrade Andrew, he said I should come back to their office this night for the release of Comrade Andrew. I asked if he meant I had to apply for his bail again and the officer said yes. I informed him I would return to their office tomorrow, 4/7/25. Yusuff Akinola, Esq.

Lamido was wrong on Afenifere's involvements in the June 12 struggle. Afenifere supported Abiola and was active in the formation of SDP via PSP which fused with Shehu Musa Yar'Adua's PDM. Before June 12 - Babalola

*Sule Lamido; The Soldier of Fortune's Horse.* By Olusegun R. Babalola My attention has been brought recently to the comments made by the former Jigawa State Governor, on Arise Television (17, June 2025) and the Guardian newspaper (25, June 2025), where he unfairly de-marketed audaciously made false comments on Afenifere, one of the most powerful welfarist groups in Africa and one of the greatest voices against bad governance in the world. On President Bola Tinubu, he made two things clear, which Afenifere have consistently emphasized, based on the principle of social democracy and welfarism, since Tinubu's presidency. According to him, Tinubu cashed in on the June 12 pro-democracy movement during the annulment crisis, acted more as a “soldier of fortune” than a genuine advocate for the people’s mandate." Secondly, he lamented that Nigeria is currently plagued by economic hardship, insecurity, and declining public morale, and he also warned that politics has taken precedence over governance halfway into Tinubu’s term. Particularly on Afenifere, Lamido surprisingly stated that "Afenifere believed that for any Yoruba to rise to the national level, it must be through them. I think that is also Tinubu’s crime—for making it to the presidency outside Afenifere.” Secondly, he noted that Afenifere “hopped into the arena after June 12 to use the victory, instead of the victor, to ride on the emotions of the Yorubas and regain political relevance after their siddon-look posture.” Lamido is looking at the surface as all sophists do, and not on both the surface and below the surface, as morally committed thinkers (political scientists and philosophers) do. Firstly, Afenifere is guided by the principle of justice, fairness, social democracy and welfarism. It's not that "Afenifere believed that for any Yoruba to rise to the national level, it must be through them" but that Afenifere believes that the principle of governance everywhere should be based on justice, fairness, social democracy and welfarism, and life abundant for all. This has been the unrivaled principle since Action Group days. This has always been Afenifere's measure of all politicians. If Tinubu switches from his neo-liberal policies to welfarist policies, and also adopts Afenifere's ideas of economic and political restructuring, Afenifere would commend him. It's no personal but a matter of principled ideology, which may be hard for Lamido to understand. Secondly, Afenifere did not join and lead the pro-democracy movement "to ride on the emotions of the Yorubas and regain political relevance after their siddon-look posture," but again based on the same principle of justice, fairness, social democracy and welfarism to seek for fairness and justice. If it was someone else from another region that was treated unfairly, Afenifere would have stood up for him. Thirdly, Lamido was wrong on Afenifere's involvements in the June 12 struggle. Afenifere supported Abiola and was active in the formation of SDP via PSP which fused with Shehu Musa Yar'Adua's PDM. Before June 12, both Afenifere and Abiola made it known to all that Abiola made up with Obafemi Awolowo (Afenifere leader) before the latter died. This was the case even though Afenifere was highly sceptical of the manipulations of Ibrahim Babangida's transition program and was more interested in the "National Question." Olusegun Obasanjo too, was sceptical about it and he wrote one his most advanced political treatises called _Constitution for National Integration and Development_ on the same transition program. It wasn't only Afenifere that was sceptical. It was also such scepticism that led to Bola Ige's "siddon look" cliche. And it was also the concern for the "National Question" that made Afenifere settle for Abiola and not Bashir Othman Tofa of the NRC. And hasn't the subsequent events of that transition program justified Afenifere's scepticism? Though Lamido claimed that he is not playing regional politics; that he is concerned with the "truth" especially for younger generation, for what he called "national rebirth;" and that his comments are not part of a North-West conspiracy against the current administration; Lamido is invariably assisting the same “soldier of fortune” to succeed whilst destroying genuine basis for an enduring trans-regional opposition. As such, he is guilty of the same critique that he placed on President Tinubu - that "politics has taken precedence over governance." Interestingly, Lamido has done this before. He was one of the many who abandoned the June 12 struggle and signed up with Sani Abacha's grip to power towards silencing oppositional groups. Abacha made him the Chairman of Nigeria Agricultural and Cooperative Bank in 1994, and after being inducted to Abacha's patronage system (apologies to Prof. Richard Joseph), he thereafter told the whole world that he didn't join politics to serve Abiola. That is the truth necessary for our national rebirth. Who is more honorable, the unrepentant prebendalist who dumped a cheated winner he once supported or a cautious skeptic who fought for justice and fairness? Lamido also noted that "It’s left for Nigerians to evaluate what is happening under President Tinubu’s watch to determine his democratic credentials." In my view, my evaluation is that Tinubu's administration has not only perfected the craft of dividing oppositional forces into factions as he did to Labour Party and other vital oppositional organizations for perpetual rule, but has also perfected dividing the oppositional minds, as seen in Lamido's comments. And this is really very disconcerting and telling. There would be no accountability from Tinubu's administration nor would the opposition be able to wrestle power from him or even win him, as long as oppositional minds and organizations are divided. National rebirth is impossible with divided minds and organizations, and without a clear sense of reasoned principles to end these artificial divisions. Invariably, if and only if Lamido is truly concerned about "national rebirth," one could say he is shooting himself in the feet. Sad. He has become, once again, the horse for the “soldier of fortune.” Olusegun Babalola is a member of Afenifere and was the Osun State Coordinator for LP Presidential Campaign Council. Minister of Education, VC and the Governing Council empty UNIABUJA treasury, shared the money. UNIABUJA Staff

UNIABUJA ACTING VC DEFIES THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, RISKS SHOWDOWN WITH HOUSE COMMITTEE ON UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION In a move aimed at defying the directives of the House of Representatives Committee on University Education to put on hold the process of appointing new substantive Vice-Chancellor and Registrar pending conclusion of an investigation hearing into the recent leadership crisis at the University, the acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patricia Manko Lar has convened a meeting of the University Senate to elect members of the Governing Council that will conduct the selection process. In a notice issued by Tanimu Mustapha, Deputy Registrar, Academic, dated 25th June, 2025, the Senate meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 26 June, 2025, which is the same day Professor Lar is scheduled to appear before the House Committee conducting the investigation hearing. She is expected to appear before the Committee along with the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University’s Governing Council. With this development, sources at the University are wondering whether the acting Vice-Chancellor will attend the hearing at the National Assembly or not, and if she does, what will be her explanation for the apparent disregard of the Committee’s directives. It would be recalled that Sahara Reporters on 24th June 2025 carried the report of action taken by the House Committee on University Education based on a petition by 98 members of staff of the University raising several allegations against the Pro-Chancellor of the University. Arising from the petition, the Committee, via a letter signed by its Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Hassan Fulata, ordered the halting of every process for the selection of a new Vice-Chancellor and Registrar

NBM CRISIS: Ese Kakor a criminal, forged signature of Okogua who died 28/8/2022 to constitute illegal BOT on November 6, 2024. - Akeem Zibiri, Chairman NCTC

PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE NCTC CHAIRMAN Date: 17th June 2025 RE: THE COURT CASE AGAINST THE EDO STATE GOVERNMENT – CALL FOR CALM AND CLARITY ON THE POSITION OF THE AUTHENTIC BOARD OF TRUSTEES Distinguished members of the Neo Black Movement, Our attention has been drawn to certain voice notes and commentaries in circulation, spreading misinformation regarding the ongoing court case between the NBM and the Edo State Government. As the Chairman of the NCTC, it is my duty to address the General Congress clearly, responsibly, and with a deep sense of respect for our movement and its future. 1. NBM's Position Must Be Represented by Lawful Trustees The authentic Board of Trustees (BOT) of NBM is currently pursuing a legitimate case at the Federal High Court, Abuja, challenging their illegal removal through alleged forgery and manipulation. Despite this, another group—constituted by Mr. Ese Stanley Kakor, who himself is under legal restraint from parading as National Head—is leading a suit in the name of NBM without the mandate of the authentic BOT or the wider Congress. This is irregular, misleading, and against the spirit of transparency and accountability we stand for. 2. Why the Authentic BOT Must Join the Edo State Suit It is essential that the authentic BOT has now applied to join the current court case as an interested party. This is to protect the integrity of the movement and ensure that no one uses the suit to legitimize an illegality or extend any tenure under false pretenses. If the authentic BOT remains silent, it may be seen in law as consenting to the actions of the fake trustees. That would undermine both the Abuja suit and the interests of NBM members worldwide. 3. No Room for Blackmail, Tenure Elongation, or Misinformation Let it be clearly stated: The authentic BOT is not fighting for personal gain, but for justice and due process. The authentic BOT has no interest in prolonging any crisis or tenure. The application to join the suit is meant to ensure that only legally recognized trustees act in the name of NBM. The court has fixed 23rd June 2025 to hear this joinder application. We urge all members to be watchful and remain law-abiding. 4. A Call for Calm and Unity This is a defining moment in our journey. We urge all members of the movement—young and old—to remain calm, peaceful, and united. Do not allow falsehoods and desperation to sway you. Justice is not a race; it is a process. Let us trust the process and allow the law to take its course. Conclusion Let no man or group take advantage of this moment to push a personal agenda. The authentic BOT is working with competent legal minds, and will carry everyone along once the court recognizes them. As your NCTC Chairman, I assure you that the transitional process will not be derailed. Let us defend the soul of the movement, not individuals. We move forward with unity, truth, and justice. Signed, Akeem Zibiri Chairman, National Convention and Transition Committee (NCTC) Neo Black Movement Worldwide

Benue genocide: Tinubu's calling the killings a "reprisal attacks" by warring groups is appalling, a cruel distortion of truth - Okechukwu Nwanguma

Mr. President, This Is Not Leadership — It Is Abdication. By Okechukwu Nwanguma President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I write to you with a heavy heart — compelled by conscience, outraged by injustice, and deeply disturbed by the tone-deaf statement released on your behalf by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, your Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Apart from your unconstitutional declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, this is the most insensitive and misguided public communication to have come from your presidency. How did you, Mr. President, respond so late to what amounts to genocide in Benue State? The world has seen the images — charred bodies of babies, children, women, entire families hacked and burnt alive in their homes. The Pope responded before you did. How can the Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria be so distant from such horror? Your statement didn’t reassure. It exposed paralysis. You told the world you were “directing security chiefs to implement your earlier directive.” So your first order wasn’t implemented? You are neither disciplining anyone nor changing strategy. You’re simply reissuing an ineffective order — after hundreds of innocent lives have been lost. Who really holds power in your government — you, or the security chiefs who ignore your commands? This isn't just failure; it’s surrender. What exactly is the logic of your government’s approach? Less than two weeks ago, your Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, said he was relocating to Benue to “stem the tide of violence.” What has he done? Where is the result? And if no one in the chain of command can enforce peace, what is the function of government? Your language in the statement is appalling. You describe what happened in Yelwata as “reprisal attacks” — as if the men, women, and children burned alive had launched some attack to provoke this massacre. What is your evidence? Where did the people of Yelwata go to kill others before being murdered in their hundreds? Calling these “warring parties” is a cruel distortion of truth. Even your own party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue, described the incident as “an unprovoked and barbaric massacre... a calculated ethnic cleansing campaign.” So which version of the truth should we believe — yours or your party’s? Let’s be clear: these are not reprisal attacks. This is genocide. And your administration’s casual framing of it is shameful. This is not the time for moral equivalence. It is time for decisive, lawful, and visible leadership. What You Must Do Now * Declare a constitutional state of emergency in Benue State. Use the powers granted to you under Section 305 of the 1999 Constitution. You do not need to suspend the Governor or the House of Assembly — that would be unconstitutional. But clearly, the Governor is overwhelmed, and you are empowered to act, especially as he has failed to request action in a timely manner. * Launch a comprehensive security operation in the state. This should involve all arms of the military and police, coordinated directly from the National Security Adviser’s office and the Defence Headquarters. All existing operations, including Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), should be integrated into this mission. Those already arrested — including bandits and armed herders — should face swift justice. No mercy for murderers. * Visit Yelwata immediately. Stand with the survivors. Address them. Mourn with them. Assure them that justice will be served. Announce a relief and reconstruction package. Let the world see you acting like the President of a country that values the lives of all its citizens. * End the charade of “dialogue” with killers. Stop pressuring Governor Hyacinth Alia to engage in reconciliation with terrorists. There is no dialogue with genocidal actors — only justice. Mass murderers should be prosecuted, not placated. Dialogue without justice is what got us here in the first place. Mr. President, Nigerians are watching. The world is watching. And history is watching. This is your test. This is your Rubicon. Do not cross to the wrong side of history.

June 12 stands for justice, social equality and eradication of poverty, while the poor are hungry and poorer under Tinubu's watch - Omoluabi Progressives

June 12 : Our Message to the Poor and Struggling Nigerians On this solemn occasion of June 12 – Democracy Day, we, the *OMOLUABI PROGRESSIVES,* honor the sacrifices made by heroes past, especially the poor and voiceless who stood firm for justice, democracy, and dignity in the face of tyranny. June 12 is more than a date—it is a reminder of Nigerian masses resilience and their unbreakable spirit which serves as the bedrock of this nascent democracy which ordinarily we should be enjoying today but unfortunately as it is, it is being raped by the very people who are supposed to know better. Today is a day that symbolizes the people’s stolen mandate through Moshood Olawale Kasimawo Abiola, MKO who believed that poverty eradication, justice, and equal opportunity must form the backbone of our democracy to ensure a free, fair, just for all and egalitarian society for the working people !. But what are we witnessing today, untold hardships in the midst of abundance and phantom wants amidst plenty resources. To you the market women, the jobless graduates, the artisans, the farmers, the okada riders, and the millions enduring hardship created by the ruling class and untold hardships heaped on you by PHCN and its arbitrary Band 419 charges, Omoluabi Progressives says to you: you are not invisible, You are the soul of this nation and a better tomorrow is knocking. We acknowledged the fact that, the gap between the half and the half nots continues to expand, the scope of the middle class is been eradicated, the poor continues to soar while the rich continue to benefit from the broken systems and false promises, we, the Omoluabi Progressives, are committed to a new kind of politics—politics with character, courage, and compassion. Politics that returns power to the people and dignity to every household. We understand the pain of empty kitchens, rising fuel prices, PHCN 418 bands and children out of school. We will not celebrate democracy without demanding it delivers food, jobs, security, and fairness while urging the ruling elites to do away with the false “Renewed Hope” mantra. The Omoluabi Progressives offer the good people of Osun and Nigerian as a whole a system where ; • *Leadership serves, and not steals* • *A country where an average Nigerian will not sleeps hungry* • *A democracy that works for not just for the politicians and the powerful but the kind of democracy that works for all, the poor, the haves, and the have nots* • *A democracy where institutions rather than personnel are built on sound framework.* “He who knows history knows that success may delay, but it will never be denied. “ Freedom Cometh By Struggle. Stay awake, stay involved, and stand for truth. For democracy is not complete until it uplifts the poor. This is our promise. A luta continua. Victoria ascerta. Gbadebo symbolized hope to end political godfatherism, oppression and systemic inequality in Lagos - Adewole Ireti

*Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour stands today as a reflection of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, carrying forward the legacy of liberation, courage, and people-driven leadership* It is noteworthy to say both Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and late Chief Moshood Abiola share a burning passion for liberation. One at the national level and the other at the state level. While Abiola’s dream was to liberate Nigeria from poverty, injustice, and misrule with his iconic "Hope '93" campaign, Gbadebo steps into the political scene with the same spirit, aiming to free Lagos from the grip of political godfatherism, institutionalized oppression, and systemic inequality. Their aspirations are deeply rooted in the desire to return power to the people and to create a fairer, more inclusive society. Neither Gbadebo nor Abiola entered politics through government appointments or the patronage of the political elite. They emerged as self-made leaders who earned their followership through integrity, vision, and grassroots connection. Abiola rose from the private sector as a successful businessman and philanthropist, while Gbadebo has remained untainted by political favoritism, choosing instead to stand with the people and not the powers that be. This independent political trajectory sets them apart as truly people's candidates. Just like Abiola denounced the elite-driven politics of his time, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is taking a bold stance against godfatherism and the manipulation of the masses through vote-buying. He is vocal about ending the culture of using poverty as a political tool, where people are given money in exchange for their future. Gbadebo’s campaign is one of political reawakening educating the electorate on the power of their vote and standing against the forces that have held Lagos hostage for decades. Gbadebo’s message of "Hope " is not accidental, it is a deliberate continuation of the dream that MKO Abiola died for. Abiola symbolized hope for a new Nigeria; Gbadebo symbolizes hope for a new Lagos. Both men are champions of equity, unity, and transformation. Gbadebo is determined to correct the long-standing narrative of marginalization in Lagos Politics, and like Abiola, he is ready to stake his all to uplift the ordinary people and restore dignity to governance. Together, let us make Lagos Proud.. - Comr. Adewole Ireti Publicity secretary

2026 Guber election in Osun : Basiru, Oyebamiji charged each other with allegations of betrayal, for reaching out to Aregbesola - Mogaji

OSUN 2026: SRJ, OYEBAMIJI ROMANCE AREGBESOLA Following a recent visit to President Bola Tinubu by the Adeleke family, there are credible reports that two governorship aspirants of the All Progressive Congress (APC) are already romancing former Governor Rauf Aregbesola Insiders in both camps revealed that the overture to the former governor was a follow up to the anger against President Tinubu for hosting Governor Ademola Adeleke at his Bourdillon residence. Operatives of both camps had earlier descended on the president after the visit, accusing him of betrayals and threatening the number one citizen with severe political consequences. Sources within the two camps disclosed that the visit has foreclosed the likelihood of illegal deployment of federal agencies to rig the 2026 elections for the state APC, leading to thinking of new alignments ahead of the elections. According to a source within the Oyebamiji camp, the reach out to the Aregbesola group is a strategic move to counter the entrenched political force of the Adelekes. “ Our leaders are reaching out to Aregbesola. You just need to remember that Aregbesola was the original godfather of our Principal. Ambo has no personal issue with Aregbesola. So rapprochement is a path being pursued”, the source said. He was however silent on whether Oyebamiji obtained permission from Blue Marine Minister, Adegboyega Oyetola, to enter a new relationship with Aregbesola. For the camp of Ajibola Bashiru, reports indicated that the APC National Secretary has been secretly sending emissaries to Ogbeni Aregbesola to forgive and forget his past misdeeds and support his bid for the governorship. “We are in touch with Aregbesola. There is no doubt about that. Both Bashiru and Ogbeni are back in a political relationship. This is politics. No permanent enemy of friend”, a close ally of Bashiru declared. Meanwhile, the two camps have accused each other of reaching out to Aregbesola, charging each other with allegations of betrayal. While the Oyebamiji camp alleged that Bashiru has sealed a deal with Ogbeni, the Bashiru group levelled the same allegation against the Ambo group. The reports of romance of the aspirants with Aregbesola is reported to have reached the Presidency, leading to reported deepening anger against major APC leaders in Osun. The fresh reports came amidst recent open attacks against Mr. President by known APC leaders in Osun state. The issue of social media attacks against Mr. President is reportedly under investigation at the topmost level.

Seize the streets on June 12 for a National Protests Action - Mekunnu Koya and Federal Workers Forum call on Nigerians.

*BE PART OF THE JUNE 12 NATIONAL PROTESTS, FOR EVERY ONLOOKER IS A EITHER A COWARD OR A TRAITOR.* Great Nigeria people, MEKUNNU KOYA and the FEDERAL WORKERS FORUM salute your perseverance in the face of hunger, hardship and suffering in the midst of plenty. We call on you to join hands to end the unprecedented poverty caused by a thieving few in the corridors of power who flaunt their ill-gotten wealth with impunity. We call on you all not to empathise with us but to fully participate in the June 12 National Protests Action to reclaim and refocus the mismanaged civil rule in Nigeria towards a genuine democratic process. We appeal to you to support and take part in the mass agitations against bad governance in Nigeria , we believe you are the unsung and genuine heroes of our nascent democracy. Clearly, our experience today is the direct opposite of why we fought military misrule to send the Khaki boys packing. From all intent and purpose, we do not lose our friends and dear ones, we do not lose our limbs, dare police brutality, face persecution and prosecution only for the poor getting poorer and poorer and the few rich getting richer and richer. Our struggles that ended military dictatorship is to enjoy our freedom as freeborn and not as slaves. We ended military rule to have democratic choice in periodic elections and not for any Neo-Fascist to imposed a one party state on us, using enormous state resources to achieve his gluttonous appetite for wealth accumulation and Emperor morbid ambition. Food prices have skyrocketed, people cannot afford basic needs, insecurity of lives and property is the new norm while the government shows gross ineptitude and lackadaisical attitude in their interventions during natural disasters. The Tinubu's renewed hope mantra has become a curse with renewed hardship. If we fail to speak out now, if we fail to act now, if we fail to resist the Tinubu's government anti poor socioeconomic policies, if we fail to reject the script for one party rule now, if we fail to resist an Emperor that has weaponised poverty , it means we have submitted our freedom and liberty, we shall be worse than slaves in our fatherland. We cannot and should not allow our harrowing experience to further degenerate. We have to take our destiny in our palms to reclaim our humanity. As we have nothing to lose but our chains. We must mobilised for a protracted struggle in the coming days, weeks and months. We should organise ourselves in our neighborhood, streets, offices workplaces and our campuses to save our hard earned democracy from the leprous hands of Neo-Fascists in the corridors of power. Dare to struggle, dare to win! Signed Comrade Wale Balogun Convener, Mekunnu Koya Comrade Andrew Emelieze Federal Workers Forum.

AFENIFERE USA CHAPTER a rebellious, divisive set of impostors in the payroll of Tinubu for 2nd term - David Adenekan

Diaspora Group Warns Against Afenifere Impostors, Backs New Leader By ALJAZIRAH -June 5, 20250142 By Blessing Otobong-gabriel The Afenifere Diaspora USA has issued a warning to the general public to beware of a group claiming to be the “Afenifere USA Chapter”, stating that the group is unknown to the pyramid structure of Afenifere and congratulated Oba Oladipo Olaitan on his emergence as the substantive national leader of Afenifere, reaffirming their support for his leadership. In a statement signed by both the Chairman, Prof. Sikiru Fadairo and Secretary, Comrade David Adenekan called on the general public to shun a group called, “Afenifere USA Chapter” as such group is unknown to the pyramid structure of Afenifere under the umbrella and able leadership of Oba Oladipo Olaitan. The Afenifere Diaspora USA emphasized the importance of authenticity and warned against impostors who may seek to undermine the organization’s integrity while urging the public to recognize only the legitimate leadership of Afenifere under Oba Oladipo’s able leadership. The group reiterated that, a group cannot exist in isolation and vacuum of a leadership structure. “To set the record straight, it was true that a group known as Afenifere USA Chapter under the leadership of Dr. Durojaye Akindutire was created by the leadership of Pa Ayo Adebanjo of blessed memory; and with the direct supervision of Engr. Adebayo Adenekan, Afenifere Diaspora Secretary. The group was dissolved by the purposeful leadership of Pa Ayo Adebanjo who has joined our ancestors because of the rebellious behaviors of the leadership of the group in question that was anti – Afenifere.” The group stated. “Today, the so-called Afenifere USA Chapter is unknown to the leadership structure of a one umbrella Afenifere under the indefatigable leadership of Oba Olaitan Oladipo; a disclaimer indeed! “Afenifere will not approbate and reprobate, the so-called leaders of Afenifere USA Chapter are detractors that have been dismissed from the organization. They are only being used by political jobbers to truncate the noble efforts of the leadership of Oba Oladipo Olaitan to ensure that the primary goals and objectives of establishing Afenifere (welfarism for all) are not defeated.” The group affirmed. “What is the manifest goal of the so called Afenifere USA Chapter, apart from a divisive political agenda to support Tinubu re-election bid for 2027 and get compensated with plum jobs or pay checks? Are they not political patronage? If not, how do you start running a campaign for a man that told Nigeria during the electioneering campaign, ahead of 2023 general election that, “If I am elected as president, hold me accountable to my promise, if I do not provide a stable and constant electricity to every Nigerian in six months, do not re-elect me as your president.” Did the national grid not collapse to the extent that the federal government has abandoned the whole country to gross darkness to opt for alternative energy, install solar panels that will cost tax-payers billions of naira to only provide constant electricity to Aso Rock, the seat of power. In this scenario, are they not desperately reinforcing failure to ask the electorates to vote PBAT for second term?” The group queried. However, Afenifere Diaspora USA needs to clarify the true identity of Afenifere to sensitize the public so that they do not get confused with the so-called activities of the detractors. Also, that any such group outside the pyramid structure of Afenifere under the astute and amiable leadership of Oba Oladipo Olaitan is a ruse, the group clarified. “The group implore all sons and daughters of Yoruba land, including the citizens of other five geo-political zones in Nigeria, namely South-south, South-east, North central, North east and North west; and the world at large to please discountenance and stay away from the so-called individuals and groups like the disbanded Afenifere USA Chapter that are misrepresenting Afenifere.

Don't drag NBM of Africa into a case with Ese Kakor, his removal reported to CAC, January 15, 2024. Barr. Nkemnacho tells Edo state government

Open Letter to the CAC, the Inspector General of Police, the EFCC and members of NBM of Africa Worldwide. I am forced to come out publicly to address some of the recent problems plaguing our beloved organisation, NBM of Africa which many of us have spent our lives building. The current dispute between Mr Ese Kakor and Edo State government, a former leader of the organisation has further dented the image of the NBM of Africa. Prior to this dispute NBM of Africa has struggled to redeem its battered image mainly from the handwork of Ese Kakor and his misguided and irresponsible associates. The problem NBM of Africa faces today is exacerbated by bad governance plaguing our beloved nation, Nigeria. NBM of Africa has since February 2024 brought to the attention of the Federal Government via the CAC and security services, the EFCC and the Inspector General of Police our problems with Ese Kakor and his misguided associates. I am particularly happy that it has taken Edo State government the boldness to challenge Ese Kakor. However in doing so it has rubbed on our beloved Organisation because of the indifference exhibited by bad federal government agencies in Nigeria. NBM of Africa is a duly registered organisation with the CAC which is responsible for registering clubs and charities in Nigeria. One expects the CAC to also monitor the activities of the clubs and charities. The trustees of NBM of Africa and legal owners of the organisation filed a report with the CAC on 15th January 2024 notifying the CAC of the removal of Ese Kakor as the National Leader of NBM of Africa for criminal activities, misappropriation, and threat to life. The report was clear on the removal of Ese Kakor from office. To date the CAC has not acted on the report by writing to Ese Kakor to stop parading himself as the President or National leader of the organisation. CAC silence has emboldened Ese Kakor and his worldwide misguided associates to continue to misrepresent himself as the President of NBM of Africa. Equally, the Inspector General of Police is complicit in denying NBM of Africa justice. Following a report by some members of our great movement to the IGP against Ese Kakor for ‘threat to life, terrorism and financial misappropriation’ nothing concrete was done by the office of the IGP except writing invitation letters to Ese Kakor. On 26 March 2024, our lawyers Henry Akunebu SAN wrote on the Trystees behalf to the IGP confirming Ese Kakor’s removal by the Board of Trustees of NBM of Africa. On 10th September 2024, one CP Emmanuel Aina (pcs), commissioner of police (SEB) of the Special Inquiry Bureau, Criminal Investigation Dept (FCID) Abuja invited Ese Kakor in a letter reference 3000/X/FHQ/ABJ/SEB/T.12/VOL to report for interview at Abuja. Nothing came out of this invitation. I would like the IGP to investigate why report by the NBM of Africa against Ese Kakor did not see the light of day. What was the outcome of the report for which Ese Kakor was invited to report to Abuja. Also the EFCC received a report about Ese Kakor’s financial misappropriation and like the CAC and IGP, it failed to investigate properly. The EFCC failed woefully as an agency involved with fighting financial crimes. Ese Kakor has continued to receive funds he should not have on behalf of NBM of Africa to date from gullible and misguided members and branches of the organisation while the authorities slumber. While I congratulate Edo State Government for standing up to fight corruption and cultism, NBM of Africa should not be mentioned in its dispute with Ese Kakor. The Trustees of the organisation will reach out to Edo state government for compensation over the destruction of its headquarters in time. It is on public record at the CAC that Ese Kakor was removed as President of NBM of Africa by the trustees of the organisation on 12 February 2024. It is also on record that security agencies were notified of his criminal activities but failed to act responsibly. The organisation is currently in court in Benin City struggling to see if Edo State judiciary can support NBM of Africa in wrestling it from the grip hold of Ese Kakor and his misguided associates. Since February 2024 Ese Kakor has grabbed and run away with the organisation aided by a corrupt Nigerian system. As a member of the NBM of Africa and a proud one and former national leader of the organisation, I urge both parties to settle their dispute without involving our respectable organisation. Ese Kakor has only existed and allowed to continue his criminal behaviour simply because the Nigeria system failed the organisation. Newspaper houses and TV channels have also contributed in promoting Ese Kakor as president of the NBM of Africa. Arise TV did not carry out good investigative journalism to learn that Ese Kakor was not the President of our organisation when it aired him in 2025. When this was brought to the knowledge of Arise TV, particularly Rufai, Arise TV failed to correct their error or apologise for airing the wrong person as the organisation’s president. It is time for Arise TV to make right its error. Our revered father the Oba of Benin was also fooled into building a relationship with Ese Kakor after he was removed from office. One can excuse our royal father, but his officials cannot be exonerated from Ese Kakor’s criminal behaviour. Some palace chiefs knowingly or unknowingly misled the Palace into accepting Ese Kakor parading himself as the leader of the organisation. Celebrities were also misled into relating with Ese Kakor as our leader. The likes of Burna Boy and Davido whom I was instrumental in resolving their long public dispute also found themselves hoodwinked by awards that mean nothing. Genuine NBM members do not need awards. It is a life duty we are called to do, fighting against inequality, injustice and the freedom of Africans mentally and spiritually. Celebrities are advised to dissociate themselves from Ese Kakor and approach the legitimate trustees of NBM of Africa for advice. Stop feeding Ese Kakor’s criminal lifestyle because he stopped being the leader of NBM of Africa in January 2024. It is unfortunate the situation NBM of Africa finds itself today. But it is my hope that justice can finally be fought for an organisation whose primary role was set up to free the minds of the black race from mental slavery and injustice. NBM is also about promoting African culture and social justice. I want to thank the Edo State government for its seriousness in fighting the cancer that we as an organisation have been fighting. I implore the government to reach out to the Board of Trustees of the Organisation to begin discussion on explaining to them why our national secretariat was demolished without notice. Ese Kakor has no legal stand to bring a case without the authorisation of the Board of Trustees of NBM of Africa. NBM of Africa has intellectuals worldwide and some are serving and retired government and political office holders that are contributing to the development of Nigeria and the world. Unfortunately like Nigeria, the lunatics have taken over the asylum. I am prayerful that the intervention of Edo State government in Suit No B/540S/2024 can help us regain our organisation from the likes of Ese Kakor and his associates. Long live NBM Long live Edo State Long live Nigeria Signed: Mr (Bar) Edward Onoriode Chikwe Nkemnacho Former National Head (AKA Lord Nelson Mandela ll,FJ82,BOF)

OAU management turned intelligence & intellectualism upside down by inviting Wike as a distinguished personality to Great Ife- Kunle Wiseman

AS 'BULLDOZER' WIKE DARES THE INDOMITABLE GREAT IFE LEGACY By Kunle Wizeman Ajayi Even while down, there is some information that would razzle you up when heard. So, the management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has the audacity to turn intelligence and intellectualism upside down by inviting FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to the prestigious Great Ife campus to come speaking as a "Distinguished Personality?!" Distinguished kini?!! If the madness to be witnessed on OAU campus on Thursday June 5th is anything to go by, one should expect the same management to bring MCOluomo next as "Distinguished Personality." When I shared the poster with a Leader of mine who has great respect for Great Ife, he simply responded by saying "OAU is finished!" His understatement is covered by the recent mass protests on Campus over how about four sets of students have been paying session by session for ID cards but the management never produced the cards. I was also on that campus, and I can say that even a village setting is far better. From Angola Hall to Fajuyi, there were bushes competing with the roads and hostels. So unkempt, the campus is really a shadow of its old self. But the management has always been like this really. I remember they tried hard in 2005 to bring Babangida to campus, but failed after students uproars. They ended up bringing the then Attorney general, Bayo Ojo the year after. Students Union Leaders roundly dealt with Ojo intellectually and he was disgraced off the campus. The same management, even when they increased fees abitrarily, also brought former President Jonathan to campus in 2016, he was pelted out the campus with sachets of water! Elements like Nyesom Wike believe they have turned Nigeria into a zoo,and they can go anywhere and do anyhow. He has "defeated" even the great Ijaws in Rivers and has been boasting around, of his defeating them. I am sure Wike is well abreast of the great legacies of Great Ife and how we don't take nonsense from elements of the Nigerian ruling class overtime. But Wike must have shunned that, and with the assurances of the management that the students Union is already pocketed, the Rivers and Abuja "Bulldozer" is all set to put our beloved Great Ife in the bag too?!!! The lecture is allegedly on teaching Great Ife students, lecturers and the community on how to be a "loyal party leader" in the present political spaces. What sort of irritating and ironic lecture is Wike coming to deliver on OAU campus? How much have we degenerated to this?? By now, if the Dr. Bush-led Students Union is actually conscious and abreast of the Great Ife traditions, there should be a statement and position of the union on Wike's embarrassing lecture by now. Great Ife students should care about Wike storming our campus to teach us the shenanigans of his brazen and open pocketing of the PDP for the benefit of a failed regime. Wike is busy demolishing and grabbing people's lands all over Abuja, whereas the FCT remains in a mess of growth and developments. So, wetin Wike wan teach us at Great Ife. Will he bring his band of pipers and be talking down on everyone at Oduduwa Hall as he is wont to doing overtime? The same Wike paid his paper pipers and they were insulting the great Femi Falana all over the press. Falana was one of the best Publicity Secretaries of the Great Ife Students Union, and has distinguished himself as a great lawyer. Whereas, Wike never appeared on court for once as a lawyer, worse than a Charge-and-bail Barrister. For my generation, by now, Wike would have rejected the coming to OAU campus. And if he is hell bent on coming; the Jonathan measure of the 2016 generation is a greater option. We the oppressed need to be facing our oppressors with our doses of the hard truths each time we have the opportunities. I urge the current Great Ife Students Union to define the standards of their own generations and ultimately keep the Great Ife legacies as indomitable and historic as ever. For the failed Professor Bamire-led management asking Wike to come teaching us about party legacies, Fela Kuti's words remain evergreen; "Teacher, teacher...don't teach us nonsense!!!"

Nigerians had a harrowing experience living through pain and anguish inflicted by Tinubu government in the last 2 years. - Afenifere

President Tinubu woefully failed Nigerians - Afenifere Midterm Report The Midterm Report shows that every human development and sociopolitical index has regressed since the coming to office of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, turning the promise of renewed hope to a nightmare of regressing hopelessness and despair. Rather than take full responsibility for the unmitigated sufferings inflicted on Nigerians in the past two years on account of its wrong policy choices and wasteful spending, the Tinubu administration has engaged in massive propaganda claiming false successes and shifting blames to global and historical factors, and showing scant empathy for ordinary Nigerians. Basically, due to unforced errors, especially the oversight of the production element of subsidies and floating the Naira, without any preparation to cushion the predictable impact, the Tinubu Economic Reforms has turned out to be Tinubu Economic Deforms. 1. Titanic crash in Domestic Production - Our GDP (Gross Domestic Production) crashes to $188.27 billion, according to IMF 2025 projections, from the $363.8 billion left behind by President Buhari, who brought it down from $574 billion that it was under President Jonathan, according to World Bank statistics. According to National Economic Summit Group, over 7 million businesses have closed down since 2023. 2. Astronomical rise in Public debt : In spite of the phenomenonal rise in public revenue from subsidy withdrawals and massive devaluation of the Naira, the Nigerian public debt has increased by over N100 trillion in just two years. Specifically, as reported by Debt Management Office, Public Debt shot up from N87.91 trillion left behind in 2023 by President Buhari administration, to N187.79 trillion projected for 2025. This is in stark contrast to the debt that was just N12 trillion before APC came to power in 2015. In dollar terms, our debt rose from $108.23 billion in 2023 to $142.47 billion in 2025, despite cutting subsidies. 3. Horrific increase in Poverty: According to the World Bank in May 2025, the poverty rate has increased from 38.9% in 2023 to now over 54% poverty rate, with over 75.5% of rural dwellers now living below the poverty line. Our GDP per capital also fell by 75% from $3,222.7 in 2014 to $1,637.47 under Buhari and now a mere $806 in 2025. According to the IMF, this is a stark indication of Nigeria experiencing shrinking prosperity and complicating poverty crisis. In absolute figures, the people living in poverty increased from 87 million to over 130 million people, with 13 million more people falling into poverty in 2025. About 33 million face starvation to death. 4. 4. Housing Crisis : About 30 million are without a roof over their head, while 108 million live in substandard housing according to Development Aid statistics. The Tinubu administration budgeted for the provision of a mere 20,000 houses in 2025, despite our population increase being over 6 million people (nearly 20,000 a day) in 2025. At 20,000 homes a year, it would take a thousand years for everyone to have a roof over their head. 5. A Prebendal and Government for the privileged and connected: Despite the Tinubu administration's economic policies causing huge inflation that cut real wages in over half, only 4.1% of the Nigeria population in the civil service had their wages increased by 38%. Reliance on unproven channels for the distribution of pitiable halfhearted food and other palliatives were corruptly split among those connected, while uncontested mega projects were brazenly given to those with well known connections to the President. It is obvious that the Tinubu administration has no intention of delivering the greatest good the greatest number of Nigerians. 6. Unabashedly profligate government: Two years into its tenure, and contrary to its well advertised electoral promise, the Tinubu administration is yet to implement Oronsaye Report to cut cost of governance, instead the costs have ballooned with new cost centers for cronies to milk. The tone of government at all levels is one of profligate 'jaiye jaiye' lifestyle, while the masses are being berated about Nigeria's wasteful past and the imperative of sacrifice to restore fiscal integrity. The government's first supplementary budget and subsequent budgets were spent on not only preserving but increasing the luxurious lifestyle of those in government - new Presidential jet, Cadillac limousines, N160 million cars for each federal legislator and scandalous increase in unaccounted constituency projects worth billions to each legislator. 7. Increase in insecurity : In the quest for absolute power, the Tinubu administration is trading off lives of Nigerians by refusing to devolve power for state police. Across Nigeria, there is a resurgence in the activities of bandits, kidnappers and insurgents. According to Amnesty International, in two years of Tinubu over 10,000 people have been killed and nearly a 1000 villages destroyed, while two new terrorist groups have evolved. The failure to treat this as an emergency to devolve power to enable states create state police places responsibility, if not culpability, for all lives lost since 2023 at the feet of the President. In addition to personal physical insecurity, there is food insecurity as rural dwellers run for dear life from foreign herders and now itinerant ''hunters''. 8. Destructuring democratic federalism - The Tinubu administration is actually Destructuring instead of Restructuring the military imposed constitution, towards true federalism. It has shown increasingly centralizing tendencies to further weaken the federalist elements in the constitution by attacking federating units with the takeover of their administrative units, known as local governments. Tinubu is destructuring the pillars of our democracy by neutralizing the legislature and judiciary put in place for balance of power and robust representative governance. It is obvious that the agenda is a one party state totalitarianism. 9. Dictatorial Tendencies and the Road to One Party State - In the last two years, we have witnessed a markedly increase in intolerance of protests by dissenting civic groups. Peaceful protesters, students and labour groups are hounded, destabilized and bullied. In recent times, we have seen a gale of opposition politicians decamp to the ruling party to prevent institutional victimization. Even government sponsorship of internal conflicts in opposition parties and sociopolitical groups are in open. Some recent appointments to Independent National Electoral Commission are speculated to be card-carrying members of the ruling party. The emasculation of liberal democratic values are flagrantly displayed, without any shame or restraint. Summary : It has been a harrowing experience living through the pain and anguish of the last two years, inflicted on the nation by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This Midterm Report is a duty that AFENIFERE - the Welfarist Political Organisation established by Obafemi Awolowo and his associates in 1951 and now under the Leadership of Oba Oladipo Olaitan, its 6th Leader - must fulfil to prevent government propagandists from drowning the voices of millions of hungry and deprived Nigerians. Rather than focusing on service delivery, the Tinubu administration is focusing on winning the 2027 election regardless of the voters. No amount of propaganda will erase hunger and poverty in the land. Only selfless and empathetic leadership can serve the people, not Prebendalist and hedonistic lifestyle. If this Midterm Report was an academic exercise, the student will receive an Advice to Withdraw from the examiner, but we believe there is still room for redemption. We urge the President and his Choir of Mandate seekersto reflect and for a change just love Nigeria and Nigerians. HRH Oba Oladipo Olaitan Afenifere Leader Prince Justice Faloye Afenifere National Publicity Secretary

Southwest problem problem is elite complacency not to help poor farmers - JM Egbe, Kogi West

WE DON'T HAVE A FULANI PROBLEM IN SOUTHWEST NIGERIA.WHAT WE HAVE IS A COMPLACENCY PROBLEM OF THE ELITE NOT STEPPING UP TO ASSIST THE PEOPLE IN RURAL SOUTHWEST NIGERIA AND DONATE THEIR FAIR SHARE OF RESOURCES TO THE FARMERS WHO ARE HUNTERS IN SOUTHWEST NIGERIA It is so unfortunate that the SARS became a “ transactional enterprise “ of Criminal in Police Officers Uniform, milking the cow of this war against terrorism .I can look back at March 2022 - October 2022 and what they tried to do to me on my own property, simply because I had to protect my investment and my abode. They were clearly out to extort me and put me out of Business. But I was determined to fight them in Court while I planned to sell of and buy a game farm in Southern Africa and leave for good .It cost me a lot in earned Kingdom as I stopped my work and shuttle, work and shuttle for 9 months. Numerous Court appearances etc. I will always be grateful to the SAHAN ( Safari Hunters Association of Nigeria ) , the Hunters of Southwest Nigeria , SCI ( Safari Club International) and my Hunting Compadres all over the World for their steadfast support, especially my friends in the “ high and low “ of the Republican Party. Pastor Idowu Ogedengbe, Professor Oyewo the Attorney General of Oyo State my GM , Prince Bowofade Aderemi,Kola Awodein SAN ‘Floreat’ and our Secretary General SUUNIFE 1975/1976 for their wise legal counsel and of course our Governor His Excellency Seyi Makinde without which we would have had an unfavorable outcome. I tell my Hunting compadres all over Nigeria that we don’t have a Fulani problem in Southwest Nigeria. What we have is a complacency problem of the Elite not stepping up to assist the People in rural Southwest Nigeria and donate their fair share of resources to the Farmers who are Hunters in Southwest Nigeria . Couple that with the collusion of the Police and Military ( Ref to Rtd Lt T Y Danjuma’s speech “ The Military , they collude with Bandits and Terrorists……. Arm yourself because if you wait for them to save you, you will die, you will die 1 by 1….“). These are words from a former COAS and retired Minister of Defence. As for the Fulani’s and the other Brigands, continue as they do their own brand of terrorism in Southwest Nigeria. they don’t know “ Yorubaland “…. I really feel sorry for them, continue. It will be Menachem Begin’s way for us in “ Yorubaland “. AN EYE FOR A TOOTH 🦷. Their eyes for our Tooth 🦷. They want to take on Yorubas?. They will give you the “ Ebiti treatment for Grass cutters “, and may their “ Ebiti’s always fall forward “ Amen Thanks to all the other people too numerous to mention. JM

Okpebholo lacks powers to regulate petroleum products or seal fuel stations on metering issues. - Osaze Edigin

*BITTER TRUTH:* Edo State government lacks the constitutional powers to regulate petroleum products or seal any fuel stations on metering issues. That's the job of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, formerly the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR). Any taskforce set up by the state government MUST work with the regulatory body for effectiveness. While we are all shortchanged by the activities of these unscrupulous filling stations, government must be seen doing things in accordance with the law. Setting up a taskforce isn't the main issue, it's that the endpoint is compromise of intention and money making opportunity for the 'boys'. I was part of a petroleum taskforce as a civil society component during Obaseki's administration, we worked with the constitutionally recognized body and other critical stakeholders for enforcement. Can someone help check on Mr. Amen Osunde who held away during Oshiomhole's administration as taskforce chairman on petroleum and was allegedly built a filling station from the process. We all know how these things work. It's usually a case of initial gragra. Items on the exclusive legislative list cannot be operated by state governments. Let's do things in civility for citizens to emulate. The state government should be duly guided against avoidable litigations. A taskforce must also be under the relevant ministry for proper accountability. Leftist Osazee Edigin AICMC 29th May, 2025 osazedigin@gmail.com

Afenifere reaffirms Oba Olaitan as Leader, rejects forest guards, backs state police.

Afenifere reaffirms Oba Olaitan as Leader, rejects forest guards, backs state police. The Pan Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has backed the establishment of State Police against the Federal Government-controlled Forest Guards, a development viewed as a palliative too little which also contradicts the very essence of Nigeria federal Union. In a communique signed by the Secretary-General, Sola Ebiseni, after its Monthly General Meeting held at the residence of its Leader, Oba Oladipo Olaitan in Ilesha on Tuesday, the group backed the age long call for State police to frontally addressed the worsening insecurity of lives and property in Nigeria. “Afenifere expressed concerns about the frightening state of insecurity and called for the establishment of State Police in line with true federalism". Afenifere insisted that State Police will work better for our situation rather than the proposed Forest Guards with overriding Federal Command, particularly in our federation where land matters is within exclusive constitutional jurisdiction of states. “We believe that Forest Guard with Federal command is anti-federalism”. While condemning acts of terrorism in the North-central part of the country, the group called for a return to modern agriculture with adequate security for farmers, adding that it would soon establish skill acquisition centres in member states to train youths free of charge. The group also reaffirmed the appointment of Oba Oladipo Olaitan as its new Leader, saying his appointment to the position of Deputy Leader in 2021 which was approved by Pa Reuben Fasoranti after his retirement, has also ensured that the leadership of the Afenifere rotated to the Oyo/Osun axis. Ebiseni further stated that the “general meeting reaffirmed the appointment of Oba Oladipo Olaitan as the new Leader of Afenifere. “Following his retirement as the Leader of Afenifere in April 2021, our revered Leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti handed over to Chief Ayo Adebanjo and appointed the then National Financial Secretary, Oba Oladipo Olaitan as the Deputy Leader, the position he held till the glorious demise of our iconic Leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo on the 14th February 2025. “The significance of this visionary appointment is that since inception in 1951 the leadership of Afenifere now moves out of what looked like rotation between the Ondo/Ekiti and Ogun/Lagos zones to the Oyo/Osun axis. “At the March 2025 General Meeting held at the residence of our late Leader at Isanya-Ogbo, it was Resolved that the Deputy Leader should serve as Leader in acting capacity and shall automatically assume office as the substantive Leader after the burial of our revered Chief Ayo Adebanjo”. In a related development a fraction loyal to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led by the retired leader of Afenifere has purportedly declared Chief Olu Falae, a former Finance Minister as Chairman. Reacting to the mischief, Secretary of Afenifere in the US David Adenekan stated categorically that " A man who's mindset of capitalism, the so called Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) as a Minister of Finance under the Military junta, which was antithetical to the welfare ideology of Afenifere is not just fit to lead the group".

Olu Falae unfit to lead Afenifere, his economic ideas contradicts Afenifere welfare ideology, not part of the pyramid leadership left behind by Pa Ayo Adebanjo. - David Adenekan

Chief Olu Falae unfit to lead Afenifere, not part of the pyramid leadership structure intactly left behind by Pa Ayo Adebanjo. - David Adenekan By: Daisi Ogunniyi. The struggle for the leadership of the Yoruba socio-political group has further degenerated with the declaration of Chief Olu Falae, as the factional leader of Pa Reuben Fasoranti group loyal to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It could be recalled that due to Pa Fasoranti failing health he had nominated Late Chief Ayo Adebanjo to take over the mantle of Afenifere leadership in a letter addressed to both the Caucus and Congress of the group in April 2021, with Oba Oladipupo Olaitan chosen to deputised Pa Adebanjo. However, in a twist of events after the Pa Ayo Adebanjo led Afenifere declared support for the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, a conventional Afenifere principled position for justice, equity and fairness that it was the turn of the Southeastern part of the country to rule Nigeria, Pa Reuben Fasoranti suddenly comes back from his self imposed retirement to drag leadership with Adebanjo after he had a closed door meeting with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the then Presidential candidate of the APC. Political pundits believe Pa Fasoranti renewed claim to leadership of Afenifere was a compromise to contradict and weaken Afenifere's support for Peter Obi and at the same time projects Tinubu as the anointed candidate of the Yoruba socio-political mouthpiece. An unpopular stand that does not resonates with majority of Afenifere members. The struggle for the control of Afenifere continued till the recent passage to glory of Pa Adebanjo. The mainstream Afenifere declared Oba Olaitan as Acting leader at Adebanjo's country home in Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode in March, with a resolution for him to assume full leadership after the burial of Pa Adebanjo which was effected a few days ago. The Fasoranti splinter group loyal to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also declared a former Minster of Finance, Chief Olu Falae as Chairman. The Afenifere Diaspora has kicked against the emergence of Falae. In a statement "A Void Succession In A Leadership Vacuum" , A Rejoinder To Olu Falae Emerges New Afenifere Chairman issued by David Adenekan. "It is a void succession in a leadership vacuum indeed! Time will tell, he stated "How would someone who was not part of the pyramid leadership structure that was intactly left behind by Chief Ayo Samuel Adebanjo of blessed memory just come from the blue to assume the leadership of Afenifere, at whose people's instance? What, who, when, how and where was the assembly of delegates that declares him as the new leader of Afenifere? Where is the real structure, apart from political jobbers who are parading themselves as Afenifere". "Suffice it to say, leadership is not declared in a vacuum. A void succession indeed!" This is inapt and gibberish. "This unrepentant Tinubu's acolytes are bent to achieve the uncharitable agenda of their so called pay master, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, PBAT" Adenekan added. " It is not going to work. Why? Afenifere is not about dialectic materialism. A man who's mindset of capitalism, the so called structural adjustment program (SAP) as a minister of finance under the military junta, which was antithetical to the welfare ideology of Afenifere is not just fit to lead the group". "Afenifere is a group that is grounded in a philosophy ideology, couples with strong conviction called welfarism". This is another shenanigans such that has already hit the rock before it arrival. An "unfit leadership cap."
